Reversal of hypothyroidism

Hi there. I am new to this site and would like to know whether anyone whether anyone has managed to reverse their hypothyroidism or thyroid antibodies (Hashimoto's disease) by diet, or whether anyone has worked with a functional medecine practitioner and to what effect.

The answer to the latter question is that various posters in the US have mentioned seeing functional medicine doctors, the abscence of answers suggests the answer to the former questions is "No"

The problem with Hashi's that antibodies fluctuate, and sometimes they go below range, and people think they've 'cured' themselves, and after that, we either hear nothing - which could mean anything - or they come back saying that they're feeling ill again, and antibodies have risen. I don't really think there can be any definitive, permanent answers.

And, even if you do manage to banish your antibodies for good, you cannot repaire the damage done to your thyroid before they left, so you will always need to take thyroid hormone replacement. The gland can regenerate to a certain extent, I believe, but never enough to be able to produce enough hormone to make you well. And that has nothing to do with life-style/diet, it's just the nature of the beast.
