I am sorry you are suffering at present and when we have pains we haven't had before we are concerned. Especially if we are taking medication for the problem.

Those who have or had Graves will respond but I think if you put Graves on the heading it might draw those who have/had it and will notice as most questions are about hypothyroid.

To edit your heading press the down arrow across from follow post - if you wish.

Hi I am hypo /hashimotos and have suffered daily headaches /jaw pain and neck pain for several years...it's 24/7 and never gone away ..all avenues have been exhausted (diet/scans/steroid injections/medications been to see so many people but nothing as worked for me.If you have only started with them since you have started your medication and its a side effect of that then i really cant answer that ,but maybe in your situation with having graves you are in a constant state of tension and you may be suffering with TMD wherehas you are tensing your jaw muscles and grinding and tensing your teeth and you may not be even aware of doing it .Sometimes it is done in your sleep and you are not aware of it but feel the effects all day.I looked into this myself and I do have it as I had an Xray that showed up its effects .I tried a mouth guard but that only protects your teeth and doesn't stop the tension or grinding so was a waste of time. I am looking into something called 'Cerezen'should you wish to look it up or ask your dentist about it.Other than that I can only sympathise with you ...nobody understands how horrendous it is and as if that isn't bad in itself, we then have to suffer the effects of autoimmune thyroid conditions!..it's torture!!
