I take 100 Levo in the mornings with a water tablet, Ibs tablet and low dose fluoxetine. I take them all together and then wait an hour before breakfast. Is this wrong?? I have just been diagnosed with CFS and I'm feeling a bit upset, I long to just feel well and have more energy and less aches and pains

I see you joined over a year ago but this is your first post - so Welcome !
Do you have any thyroid test results with ranges you could share ? It sounds as if you are under medicated to have the symptoms you mention ....
I am due another blood test iminantly, so I will request the results and post this time. Thank you
All thyroid tests should be done as early as possible in morning and fasting and don't take Levo in the 24 hours prior to test, delay and take straight after.
Essential to get vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 checked, plus FT3 as well as FT4, plus thyroid antibodies
When you get results come back with new post
If you can't get full thyroid and vitamin testing from GP

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.
Yes, it's wrong. You should take Levo with a glass of water and away from other medication and supplements by a couple of hours (some need longer) to avoid any possible interactions or absorption problem. I take my Levo in the early hours of the morning when I need the loo, avoids everything that way.
Recently prescribed low dose of fluoxetine for chronic fatigue syndrome. I have been on Levo for twenty years!! Dose reduced from 125 to 100, 18 months ago by my GP. I have not felt right since but she insists it is more dangerous to over medicate as there is a risk of heart attack. How do you argue with that?
I know that GP's are jack of all trades, master of none! But surely they should be more knowledgable about this condition. After all you put your faith in them. My GP is trying to help and I have seen an endocrinologist now after 20 years lol!! Just wish I felt better than I do I have challenged about T3 and T4 but I'm told there is not enough research to prove that both are needed. Only in the USA apparently.
Your GP should not have reduced the dose based on the TSH result - if the FT3 was over range then it MAY be feesible. Am betting the T3 was not tested. This is why you need ALL results so you know what is going on and you are not at the mercy of your GP.
Ask your GP to show you research about T4 being dangerous. Again it is ONLY when the T3 is over range AND you have symptoms that the heart beat may increase. This Doc does not understand the thyroid.
You need the following tested and fast 😊 B12 - Folate - Ferritin - Vit D. Thyroid hormones do not work well if these are low in range. Have you had your thyroid anti-bodies tested ? - you may have Hashimotos. Are you able to have Private Testing done at home ? That way you will get the tests you need. Look at ABOUT TESTING on the Menu in the link below.
