I’m hyperthyroid (only diagnosed just over a week ago) and have been wondering if there is anything diet wise I should be aware of. I read that a peleo diet might be beneficial. Is that correct?

If you've only just been diagnosed the best thing is to eat a healthy balanced diet as you need to nourish your body. Unless you have an allergy or intolerance to anything I would not make a big change to your diet when just diagnosed with hyperthyroid conditon.
You could get your vitamin levels tested next time you have a blood test, B12, folate, ferritin and Vitamin D. All can be deficient in people with thyroid conditions.
