Dr Myhill talks about Thyroid Hormone Receptor Resistance.
I doubt that few doctors dealing with thyroid disease is aware that some people can have resistance to thyroid hormones.

Hi Shaws,
thankfully since joining this forum and ThyroidUK I'd completed my diagnosis by exclusion. My bradycardia was/is thought to be totally unrelated!
A recent private T3/ reverse T3 ratio of 15.8 instead of above 20 gave me a big clue alongside my heart normalising after a 3 week course of antibiotics for yet another tick bite.
Recent cardiac MRI's and echocardiograms are normal so now back to the drawing board of reversing the symptoms of stealth hypothyroidism. The heart can only utilise T3.

One of our Advisers, deceased, was an expert on Thyroid Hormone Resistance and he used T3 only for his thyroid hormone resistant patients.
His other patients were prescribed NDT and he would never prescribe levothyroxine.
I had forever palps on levo and as soon as I took T3 only I haven't had any visits to A&E or palps. My whole body calmed down.
Yes discovering that I've got Thyroid Hormone Receptor Resistance has been enlightening. I'm still currently on a T4/T3 combo as agreed with my endocrinologist that might be up for debate in the future!
Green smoothies, epsom salt baths, magnesium malate and citrate have been essential as I try to unravel the years of chronic stealth hypothyroidism and suppressed immune system.
