Just wondering if anyone else is trying the new wonder probiotic Kijimea which is supposed to heal leaky gut and IBS symptoms. I have been taking it for nearly a week and it's definitely making changes to my digestion. Would like to compare notes with someone else if possible. Thanks!

Not me, but have you tried any home-made sources of probiotics: kefir; sauerkraut; yoghurt; kvass etc?
Hi never heard of it .but good luck .I gave up dairy and sugar and went from 30 years of constipation .to normal soft stool .so I guess something has improved. I also lost my headaches and brain fogs.
I started making water kefir - I don't like milk - eventually I had to stop it as the production was so relentless that I just couldn't keep up with drinking it plus I I had to remember to keep 'burping' the bottles that were in the fridge, I was always terrified they would explode.
I quite liked the taste, it was kind of like very sharp, slightly fizzy lemonade and was pretty easy to make. I'll give it another go and try harder to get through.
Spotted some in Sainsburys.
Was it water kefir? If so whereabouts was it in the store. Sounds like easier than making my own, I felt like I was going into mass production - kind of like the sorcerer's apprentice in the Disney film.
Adding orange juice or lemon and fresh ginger and continuing the fermentation for a day or two improves the flavour.
It wasn't the flavour, I had blueberries, figs and I think there was maybe lemon in my recipe too, I just couldn't drink that much, I need to do it again and workout how to dry off the granules between batches to give me a break.
Could you eat it in the form of jelly (if you used agar or gelatine to set it)?
You can slow down production by eating the kefir crystals or just throwing them in the compost heap.
You can use a soft top for the first and subsequent fermentations of water kefir if you're concerned about it being over-fizzy or too strong for the container.
Jelly sounds interesting. Eating the crystals sounds better than composting them which waswhat I did - I felt like I was killing off a living creature though, I got quite attached to my starter. I was sorry it had to go.
I can see why people got fed up with ginger beer plants and I think years ago there used to be some sort of cake thing that worked that way too. People were always offering it around, can't remember what it was exactly because I always refused - I'd seen it take over other people's lives.
Herman the German or the Amish Friendship Cake starter are the usual ones the grow to exceed the number of people to whom any rational person can distribute them
