I'm also hyper, I was given carbimazole 40g a day and beta blockers by my doctor before my first appointment at the endo clinic. The beta blockers will help with a lot of your symptoms. I felt more human after a week or so. I then became hypo so the doctor advised to lower the carbimazole to 20g a day and I stopped taking the beta blockers as I didn't need them. I've now seen a consultant who has lowered now my carbimazole dosage to 10mg a day ...good luck on your journey

What blood tests showed you have Graves disease? How did the doctor diagnose it? If you post the results of your latest blood test along with lab ranges and antibodies test results it would help. When is your appointment with the Endo?

I will get them all printed off and post them up not to sure to be honest I was admitted to hospital 3 times last week and they diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism and put an urgent referral to endo, they also took bloods for antibodies then had the doctor call me today and say it's Graves' disease and I should have an appointment with endo soon but to carry on with the beta blockers until iv seen endo ect! It's all so confusing for my little brain to take in lol and the beta blockers are wiping me out 😭 I'm just hoping the appointment doesn't take to long to come through now!

Good plan to get a print out and post them here but it sounds like they've done the antibodies tests which is good. Hopefully you've got the correct diagnosis. Ask what the guidelines state about seeing an Endocrinologist so that you at least know how long the wait will be. Thyroid UK have a list of good Endocrinologists if you have problems at any point. Most Endos are diabetic specialists and don't have much of a clue about thyroid conditions but hopefully will be clued up on Graves disease.

If the betablockers they've given you don't suit, ask to try a different kind but usually propranolol is the one prescribed.
