free thyroxine
14 pmol/l = FT4: 14pmol/L
Doctor is saying it's normal because it's somewhere within the range; however, you've given no range so we don't know if that's very low, middling or what.
Did your doctor say what he is going to do? If your TSH is high then you need an increase in Levo. The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it is needed for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges
The range was 12pmol/l - 22pmol/l
I'm not currently on any medication I was for about 2 weeks but was getting side effects
So your FT4 is low in range with a high TSH (presumably over range).
If you had side effects from your Levo then you should have asked for it to be changed to a different brand. They have different fillers and you could have been reacting to one of those.
What does low in range mean? Can the fillers cause palpitations?
FT: 14 - range 12-22
You can see that your result lies at the bottom end of the range.
High TSH + low FT4 indicates hypothyroidism.
The aim of a treated hypo patient generally is for TSH to be 1 or below or wherever it is needed for FT4 and FT3 to be in the upper part of their respective reference ranges.
I don't know if fillers can cause palpitations, I've never had a reaction but as we're all individual we can all experience different things.
