I was put on levothyroxine about 5 years ago by a fertility clinic when I was trying IVF. Although my test result was in the normal range, they said it was too high for their procedures/protocol. It was 4 and then needed it to be under 1. That round of IVF failed and I've since had 2 children naturally. Whether the levothyroxine helped with these pregnancies, I'm not sure.
My issue is that I am still taking 75mg and I have slowly been developing psoriasis on my scalp and elbows. It is quite excruciating sometimes. I also have sore joints and muscles, although I'm not sure if it is related. Should I really be on levothyroxine? Do I really have thyroid issues? I don't know! I guess I could decrease to 50mg and see what happens? I had my levels tested by the doctor a few months ago and they just say 'its in the normal range'.....!!! Not sure what to do......... thanks for any advice.

Hi, can I just clarify. You had 2 children naturally whilst being on Levothyroxide? How long were you on them for and what 25mg etc?
I only ask as I've had 5 rounds of ivf already. 2 failed, 3rd I got pregnant followed by a very quick mc. The 4th using DE also failed. I asked my ivf clinic to do a TFT and my consultant laughed at me and said I looked normal and it wasn't that. I persisted and she said "ok, if you pay". I went through 3 weeks of ivf treatment and she still refused to do the test until a few days before my frozen transfer. When the results came back they were 4.5 with both extremely high antibodies. She stopped my transfer immediately. No apologies, no sorry, nothing. She reluctantly put me on levo 25mg which I've been on since beginning of July. Haven't been tested yet. They won't let me start again until I get to 1 or below.
When you got pregnant naturally did you levels come down to 1 or don't you think it made a difference. Am so pleased to hear you've had 2 children since. You're blessed. I think on this website they can recommend places where you can send off your bloods to get your TFT done privately. Then you can post your results on here. People on here are so 'educated' and will give their opinion. Might not be medical professionals, but I've had a lot more support and answers than I ever had from my GP or ivf clinic. Best wishes.
