Hi I see my thyroid consultant once a year and he absolutely hates it when my GP changes my medication as he says he's the expert not the Gp.

Harrop,
My endo manages my thyroid and blood tests annually. My GP is informed of results and the dose I'm to take but otherwise has no involvement other than issuing repeat prescriptions. Your consultant should write to your GP and ask GP not to interfere in consultant's treatment plan instead of whining to you.
