Thank you all for your inputs now I do not feel alone. I switched back from naturethroid to synthroid and am not regulated yet . I had never had shallow breathing or air flow problems until now and wondered if anyone had any help or new information about this. I have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and the shallow breathing makes me feel so nervous. Thank you for any more hey.

Hypothyroid 2017
Hi Sealsharp, Which hormone is giving you shallow breathing? You may be under medicated. I'm sure you are very uncomfortable. Do you have any latest blood test results?
How much synthroid are you taking? How long have you been taking it? How much Naturethroid were you on before? Why did you change back? How long were you taking it? I'm afraid we're going to need a lot more information to be able to help.
Have you had your vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin tested? Shallow breathing can be due to nutritional deficiencies.
I experience shallow breathing during sleep & wake up feeling very anxious most mornings,as I have done all my life(now 67)I do breathing exercises when I wake up,aiming for slow inbreath to the count of 7 slow outbreath to the count of 11.It takes a few minutes to work up to that, and often I can only manage to get to 9 & hold for 2,due to my tight chest.I am rebalancing the carbon dioxide inbalance with this excersise. This excersise is recommended for panic states.I also attend yoga classes & meditate daily.
I have tried NDT:T4/T3 combo:T3 only but still struggle with fatigue, anxiety, depression.Still looking for the best medication/dose.
This forum is my support.I'd be lost without it.
Think you should look to having the tests done that greygoose suggested. Unfortunately being hypothyroid werend to be kowxin many things and need to supplement. The four suggested are things that help the Thyroid to work better so very good place to start.
When you have results can you please post them. Many doctors will tell you if you are in range that you are fine but that's rarely the case. As with thyroid meds it's were in the range that matters so post results with the ranges and then we can give further advice, not putting if necessary as it's par for the course unfortunately.
