Hi Pranisha. Are you taking Levo - if so, how much?

No, i am not taking any levo or any other meds

It means you don't convert T4 to T3 very well. But that's all one can say, without more detail.

You're welcome.

I disagree. The fT3 is in the upper half of the range. The TSH is subdued below normal range. Without any indication of symptoms or details of medication. I see poor evidence for that conclusion.

The FT3 is only that high because the FT4 is well over the top of its range. It shouldn't be like that. The FT3 should be higher than the FT4 in their respective ranges. Otherwise, that unconverted T4 will convert to excess rT3. And, no, I don't have any research to link to.

Given the over range T4, and under range TSH over conversion to rT3 is exactly what I suspect may be happening. With this labwork that would probably be a proper response not a problematic under conversion.

Without seeing previous results with other levels of T4 and T3 however, I see insufficient evidence to form a conclusion of poor conversion.

Well, let's just say that your guess is as good as mine, considering the 'insufficient evidence'.

Welcome to the forum, Pranisha.

If you aren't taking Levothyroxine you are hyperthyroid (over active) as TSH is suppressed and FT4 is over range.

If you are hypothyroid and taking Levothyroxine you may be slightly over medicated. If you feel well then there is no need to reduce dose but if you feel over medicated consider reducing dose by 25mcg. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_...

Pranisha,

Your GP should refer you to endocrinology for management and prescribe low dose Carbimazole while you are waiting for referral.

Pranisha,

You should discuss it with your doctor. If you can't get an appointment today or speak to your GP go to A&E. It may be nothing but heart pain should not be ignored.

Since your T4 is above range, your T3 is near top of range and your TSH is below range, you appear to be hyperthyroid.

Beyond that, if you are taking no meds - I suspect a referral to an endocrinolgist would be in order. Has your GP done this?

Beyond that, I am more knowledgable about hypothryoidism and can't offer much comment. The obvious question would be how you are feeling with these hormone levels?

You have responded directly to the original post but it reads as if that is not what you meant to do.

Responded to original post and since seen lack of meds Rod.

Your tests suggest that you may be hyperthyroid not hypothyroid. My blood tests were the same and I was diagnosed a few months ago. A suppressed TSH suggests your thyroid is producing too much hormone. The slightly elevated T4 with the suppressed TSH does suggest hyperthyroidism.
