When having labs done for thyroid does an illness affect the results?

I had my thyroid panel done last week and am wondering if being sick alters the readings in any way.

My GP has told me if you have an infection you can get a temporarily raised TSH.

when i had a tooth infection my t4 and ft3 dropped for quite a while my tsh didnt change. Its quite normal its ur bodys way of conserving energy while you get better. Its natures way of slowing you down x
