For anyone who crochets or even for those who want to learn how, these are really easy to make bags.

Thank you for this link Ellie-Louise, I love crochet - and knitting and they'd make a lovely change from grandsons' jumpers and scarves :)

There is a fabulous, really different crocheted slipper pattern on YouTube but it's in Spanish 😳

Now I can follow and understand (even though I don't speak Spanish) everything she does except for the beginning.

There are sizes from small children to adult but I have no idea of what I would need re: yarn/hook size for my size which would be a 5 or possibly 6.

I would love to make them :(

Fingers crossed, 😊 thank you. x

Maybe if it had been written down instead of being spoken I could have looked it up, I always think that our own words must sound nothing like to foreigners because we tend to run words together. It must be very confusing for them.

Hi again Ellie-Louise, the pattern goes by length of sole, I'm a size 6 shoe and my foot is 24cm long so I think the largest size, 9, would be right for you, which has a 23cm long sole. It's worked on a size 3mm crochet hook and uses 110grms of wool "recommended for size 4.5mm needles" but it uses the word for (knitting) needle not (crochet) hook! I checked needle and yarn sizings and I think it's double knitting for 3.5mm to 4.5mm needles. Some charts also show Aran for 3.75 - 4.5 needles but one gave a chart for both needles and hooks and that showed DK for 3.5 - 4.5 mm of both needles and hooks but it showed Aran as being for 3.75 - 4.5 mm needles and 5.5 - 6.5 mm hooks, so probably the best would be to try it in DK.

Good luck, please post a photo of the finished slippers :) By the way I love how her pink nails match her pink crochet hook! Are you on Ravelry?

Hi Framboise, thank you so much. I did wonder if it would be DK. I think it would be quite a firm fabric being on a small hook that's normally used for 4 ply. It didn't even occur to me she was measuring the sole, I thought it would be so many rows.

I did join Ravelry some years ago, I haven't looked at it in a while though. Do you speak Spanish yourself? x

Hi Ellie-Louise, I think they'll be interesting because they look soft but must be quite firm with so many stitches making up the braids. I haven't seen a pattern measured like that before, I hope it's accurate!

I learned Spanish years ago and I can still understand some things written but I only caught the odd word in the video! I'd be useless if I went to Spain.

I go to Ravelry for inspiration, but I get sidetracked - I started several jumpers for my oldest grandson which he grew out of before I'd finished them. I have so many projects and so many bags of yarn!

You sound like me, before I was hooked on my PlayStation I used to knit all the time, my mother taught me when I was around 5or 6 how to do everything craft wise, besides always hand knitting etc. I even still have my knitting machine and boxes and boxes of yarn I doubt I'll ever use up!

Do you look at Pinterest? I love that, there is such a variety of subject matter. It takes up my attention for far too long.

In the early days of marriage...mid 1970's...I started to crochet a christening gown for my sister-in-laws first baby, that was never finished but she never knew about it as she lives in SA so it didn't matter. After that I started a pram rug for my sisters first baby, guess what? However, I did eventually finish that, not for the baby...for that baby's first baby!!! He was in his 30's by this time and he laughed when I told him what it would have been. I'm making curtains atm. but for the last year or more I've been making jewellery, that's really exciting. I thinking of designs for a few pieces in sterling silver in the hopes of eventually opening an Etsy shop. A few months ago I decided on a great name for it but stupidly didn't make a note and now I can't remember what it was. 😂

(I hope no-one minds my chattering on, my husband says I never 🤐)
