Dosage increase real time.

Hi Everyone....me again! Sorry.

After a levoroxine dosage increase how long would you really say it takes to get into your system and start working?

I increased from 150 to 175 on Tuesday 21st March....so 4 weeks ago.

I've not noticed anything changing at all and yet again I've gained just under 2lbs this week.

The reason I ask is last night my heart was wild!! I had such strong palpitations and I felt really agitated. I was totally Restless and I really struggled to fall asleep.

Today I'm fine, just tired from lack of sleep.

Is this the 175 dose in my system now? Or something different.

Thank you as always for any help.

Zuzka1,

It takes 7-10 days to absorb the increased dose and up to six weeks to feel the full impact of it so it should be working for you now.

Thank you Clutter

I had savage palpitations again last night.

Do you think it could mean I am on too much Levo?

Feeling a bit worried ☹️

Zuzka1,

Your FT4 and FT3 weren't high in range on 150mcg so I doubt 175mcg is too much. If you were over medicated I think you would be having palpitations during the day and night. You could skip 2-3 doses and go back to 150mcg and see whether the palpitations ease or stop.

Ok thank you!

Probally just freaking myself out for no reason then.

4 weeks untill I see the Endo so going to try and ride heart palpitations out....if I get them day time I will do as you've advised.

Thank you.
