Hi, have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism in last 5 months. Also have Alopecia Areata. My GP referred me to my local Hospital to see an Endocrinologist but last week my appointment was cancelled. As anyone else had the same?

Endo appointments are often postponed. Have you been offered another at a later date ? ? ..

Yes. Did the hospital not make another appointment? If they didn't and your GP sent a copy of your blood tests maybe they thought the GP should be able to.

First, we have to read and learn if we want to get well. I shall give you some hints.

Blood tests should be the very earliest time, fasting (you can drink water) and allow 24 hour gap between your last dose of levothyroxine and the test and take it afterwards. This allows the TSH to be at its highest as doctors only take notice of it.

Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges for your own records and you can post if you have a query.

Also ask GP to test B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate as we can be deficient.
