Hello, I have read through quite a few posts on here that have extensive lists of test results. Are these obtained from your GP or have they been gained by a private test? Many have very detailed lists right down to Vitamin contents etc. Any ideas?

Archaepon Quite a few of us get private test bundles done which include all relevant thyroid tests plus vitamins and minerals. Sometimes a GP will do some of them but not all, FT3 is very rarely done except maybe by an endo, thyroid perixidase antibodies are rarely done by the NHS and Thyroglobulin antibodies almost never done.
A lot of members resort to private testing because they go nowhere with their GPs and their symptoms are dismissed or blamed on something else.
If you want to check out private testing, see ThyroidUK's main website testing page here
A good GP should run a full panel blood test for unexplained syptoms such as fatigue as that could be so many things. The blood panel can rule out many things and give an indication as to what may be wrong. You can always ask as you "are worried" and want your mind put at rest. Once they have done a full panel, they will rarely do it again unless you become ill with something else.
The key phrase in that reply is 'a good GP'. I am having difficulty finding one that I can see on a regular care basis. It is pot luck for an appointment at my surgery.
