I'm on T3 only, yes. What are your questions?

Thank you!

What would be my FT4 level if I stopped taking it? What response could I expect from my Endo if I stop taking levo? Can i manage on T3 only?

My symptoms improved when I reduced my Levo so wondering if I will improve if I cut it out altogether. T3 has helped a huge amount so that's why I'm thinking Levo might not be helping me. FYI I'm supplementing and these are optimal too

It maybe trial and ever but if I stop taking it and my health declines I can always reintroduce it can't I?

MissFG,

You've only been taking T4+T3 6 weeks. That's barely time for T3 to start working. You'll be better advised to continue T4+T3 until you've been optimally dosed on T4+T3 for 3 months and see how you feel then.

If you take T3 only FT4 will drop below range. That's not a problem as long as FT3 level is adequate.

I've been T3 only on several occasions. I prefer T4+T3 combination which I think is a smoother ride and I like the security of having T4 in my system for conversion to T3 (even though I'm a poor converter) should I be unable to take T3 for a few days.

Thank you I'll continue and see if I improve

Your FT4 level would depend on how much T4 your gland is capable of producing. But, mine went down to zero.

A hospital endo nearly had kittens when she saw my FT4 at zero, but she didn't know I was taking T3 only (because she hadn't asked!). She was ok with it once she found out. But, it does depend on the endo.

Yes, you can manage on T3 alone. Lots of us do. But you'll only find out how you do on it, by trying. And, yes, of course, if T3 only doesn't suit you, you can always add the T4 back in at an time. :)

Thank you that's as I thought! My Endo is aware I've sourced T3 and is supporting me taking it. Obviously I doubt he'd agree to me stopping Levo however I'm going to go by my symptoms as if I'd listened to him I'd still be only on levo and bed ridden. I'll continue as I am until my next bloods and see if another increase in T3 helps at all before I consider stopping Levo completely
