After over 2 years of feeling generally unwell and listening to my GP offering advice

such as, go for some nice long walks, I have been diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism.

I am now awaiting an app for surgery.

I know that this is generally a thyroid site, but can anyone offer me support and advice?!

Thank you.

First, so well done for keeping fighting to a diagnosis.

If you have the energy, which u probably don't, and I wouldn't blame u if it is too much trouble, it would help others if u wrote to the gp who disregarded your symptoms noting your diagnosis, and the symptoms which pointed to it. You don't need to be nasty, feedback is useful to them. Write as though s/he he will understand that u r trying to be helpful.

I hope you have a surgeon who is very experienced in parathyroid surgery as the key to a successful op depends on that. If you want to pop over to our parathyroid site for more info Clutter has given the web address, thanks Clutter ☺
