Who and how were you diagnosed ? Do you have your calcium and parathyroid blood results ?

Yes. It has all been confirmed by my endocrinologist and I have now been referred to addenbrooks as I am also pregnant.

I was hoping people could shed light on managing the symtpoms they have?

Do you know if it's due to an adenoma or low vitd ? If it's low vitd it's more easily sorted.

I had hpth a few years ago, the treatment is usually surgery but as you are pregnant they may want to wait, there is a drug called Cinacalcet which reduces levels but again may not be suitable for you now. Not much you can do for the symptoms.

I am all sorted for treatment. It is more complicated than that with my case.

I have been managing the symptoms by drinking 3 litres of water a day. I am looking for other suggestions on managing to symptoms until surgery can fix it.

Do you have the condition?

I did a few years ago and I also ran the UK support forum.

What treatment are you having ?

This is useful website

parathyroid.com

They produce a good app - put your own results in for good graphs etc

calciumpro.com

As you are also hypothyroid, do you have Hashimoto's also called autoimmune thyroid disease diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies

Have you had vitamin B12, folate and ferritin tested too

Although not during pregnancy, I too have (had) hyperparathyroid. Went through all the confirmation testing etc before having surgery Jan 2016 to remove 2 parathyroid glands/adenomas (one was in my chest, weird!) As you are sorting out what to do whilst pregnant, I did so immediately following radical hysterectomy. I suspect both situations could be muddy re symptoms as your body (endocrine system) is in somewhat of a temporary state. Personally I didn’t notice much difference before or after re how I felt other than I wasn’t peeing all the time. But again, there were other things at play so to speak. Does your Dr advise okay for surgery prior to giving birth? Any questions you have, I’ll do my best to answer - based solely from my personal experience - w perhaps being useful to yours. XO M.
