Hi All,
Could someone tell me whether GP's will test for T3 if I ask them or is it luck of the draw?
Many thanks in advance.

I would print a list of tests recommended by Thyroid UK and give it to your GP.
It can depend on the contract between labs and gps. In my area gps cannot order ft3 the labs won't do it, but hospital consultants can. I think it is a cost thing, and follows guidelines that TSH is the gold standard and mono therapy is suitable for everyone, grrr.
It's possible I'll have to pay for it then. I paid for the last one but my meds are still being fettled so I really want to see the bigger picture until I fell well again (we can live in hope)!
At my Gp's there is no box for them to tick for T3 test but they can write it in. Sometimes the lab ignore this anyway, but sometimes they test it! If my Endo takes my blood the T3 gets tested.
