Almond Milk.: Hi, this is my first time posting... - Thyroid UK
Almond Milk.
Well, personally, I think it's disgusting! lol But, I'm sure that's not what you want to hear.
Like most things, if you enjoy it, and it has no adverse effects on you, then there's no reason why you should have it. (The exception to that rule is unfermented soy.) There's not much in the way of almond in there, anyway, it's mostly water. But, if you think it's disagreeing with you, stop having it, and see if you feel better.
Exactly, there seems to be 2% or so almond in almond milk. So mostly water. They also contain ridiculous amount of sugars, of course, to cover the hideous taste.
I find all milk substitute disgusting. But milk is disgusting too so no difference
On the other hand almond cream is nom nom with coffee.
If you're concerned about it being goitrogenic I have read that you have to consume unfeasibly large quantities of goitrogenic foods for them to have an adverse affect on your thyroid.
My only other thought is whether or not you know if you're on enough meds. If you're anxious on 50mcg levo maybe there is some room for improvement. Even though doctors will tell you it is a hypER symptom, anxiety was a big hypo symptom for me.
Thank you
I am gluten, dairy and soya free and drink KoKo coconut milk. I tried almond milk but prefer the coconut milk. Do you have you blood test results? I always get anxious when I'm under active.
