Hello, wondering if anyone can advise about switching back to Levothyroxine? I'm currently on 2.5 grains of NatureThroid but not feeling very good on it. Can I just switch back to my old dose of levo or should I do it gradually? Thanks!

Advice on switching back to Levo
2.5 grains = 90 T4 and 22.5 T3. A rough T4 translation is about 125 T4
I don't know what T4 amount you were on before, but look into taking at least half the T4 at bedtime and see if this improves things. My bedtime dose of T4 helps big time. If i miss it i don't feel as good, if i just took it in the day time.
You can switch straight over to the dose you were on with levothyroxine.
However, after six weeks and you don't feel so good, I'd suggest adding some T3 to your T4.
says 2 grains equals 200mcg here - depends on brand & yourself

may I add any hormone replacement needs adequate levels of vitamins/minerals to work properly
Trouble with the maunfacturers' conversions - they seem to be established to provide a slighty low (and therefore extra safe) dose of desiccated thyroid when converting from levothyroxine.
Used the other way, I think the levothyroxine doses look high, possibly too high.
Long-term inadequate medication is very bad, but a brief period of being slightly low when changing over is unlikely to be much of an issue beyond the few days of adjustment.
