Welcome to our forum and your story is a familiar one on this forum. Most have not recovered their health on levothyroxine or remain undiagnosed.
I am glad you've now got a good doctor and am sure you will improve on Armour but you should increase by a small amount every two weeks until
you are symptom free. I shall give you a couple of links but this is the procedure you should follow before you have blood tests, as most doctors only go by those. The blood tests were introduced along with levo so don't quite 'fit' with NDT.
When having a blood test it should be the earliest possible and fasting (you can drink water). You should also allow 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test. This allows the TSH to be highest as doctors are apt to adjust dose according to the TSH. I shall give you a couple of links:-
You should also make sure B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate are optimum as we can be deficient.
Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges for your own records.
