Feeling lost, recent bloods 'normal' again but I'm feeling far from normal. Could anyone poss look at my results and see if I'm missing something. I couldn't take a pic of all results as lots of pages! I'll post below :-)

Do you have any thyroid tests? TSH, FT4, FT3, TPOab, TgAB?

Only thyroid related test was TSH which was 4 (0.3-4.5)

Well a TSH of 4 is not normal, it is hypo, even if it is in range. So, if you are on thyroid hormone replacement, you need an increase.

Not on anything at all. My mum and her father are both on thyroxine. I first visited GP last month, posted on here 'Normal range but feel awful'

OK, well, unfortunately, doctors rely too much on the so-called 'normal' ranges. But, half the time, they're not 'normal' at all.

Your TSH is high, but doctors think they have to wait until it's a lot higher before they diagnose. What time of day did you have this test? Was it a fasting test?

No, didn't fast as wasn't told by GP to and wasn't aware I had to.

No, your doctor would have no idea. I just thought you might have read it somewhere.

So, next time you go for a test, go as early as possible - 8 o'clock if you can! - and fast over-night. Just drink water. That way, you will get the highest possible TSH. If it comes back over-range, you might stand a chance!

GP has refused to retest so I think I might have to wait until I'm really poorly to get somewhere with him! :-(

Well, not straight away, but if there's the slightest suspicion of thyroid problems, he should test after 3 to 6 months, to keep an eye on it. Your TSH is at the top of the range, that should be reason enough to retest in time.

Exactly what I said to him and he told me with a TSH of 4 i wouldn't even show symptoms! I gave him a list of approx. 16 symptoms i have at present, still told depression and anxiety :-(

As per my reply yesterday - have you had B12, folate, ferritin and vitamin D levels checked?

Both Antibodies, FT3 too

If not, then private testing is your best option

No Slowdragon, none of those tests have been done. GP won't do anymore tests, he's adamant it's not my thyroid

Many of us have been in similar situation, either can't get diagnosed in first place or inadequately / incorrectly treated.

That's why so many of us get blood tests privately.

So sorry you feel lousy.

Do spend some time on this site, reading other folks stories.

There is hope, and if you can get private tests (about £99, and the best money I have ever spent) you will get a good idea of what is going on. Armed with that, post them on the site, and all these marvellous members will advise you.

I am on road to getting better, not there yet, but taking control immediately helps one to feel more positive.

If your GP is really unreceptive, there are private sympathetic doctors. You can get their names by sending to ThyroidUK for information pack.

Good uck, and don't loose heart

All of my blood tests are completely normal also & I have had everything tested. My tsh is only 2.08 & antibioties are negative, just slight vit D deficiency-have been taking supplements, hormones are also ok. I have never been so exhausted, foggy brain etc. I was told also that I have depression, & which I do because I feel sick! Also have lost 1/2 my hair!!! I do have high anxiety also, I don't know why. :(. One doc did tell me he could give me 30mg Armour to see if this helps. Any opinions would be most appreciated! I have been on a birth control pill for 6 months. (I was told by pharmacy this should not be the cause of MAJOR hair loss)

Strange isn't it, my GP is adamant they way I'm feeling is due to my anxiety and depression but the way I'm feeling is nothing like I've experienced before. Think i'll do some investigating of my own :-)

Exactly! I can tell that something, whether it's thyroid or not is wrong! At this point I'm so devastated I may need to go back on some type of psych med because I cannot keep feeling this way. I feel like I'm 80. No one in their 20's should feel this sick every day. I cannot remember a day when I felt healthy 😞It has been years....
