Some individuals are extremely sensitive to chemicals/smells/fragrances. Indeed MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities) are now commonly recognised, and cause multiple symptoms.

Thank you for this link, I am extremely sensitive and can get a migraine at the drop of a hat. Take beta blockers 3 times a day and have strong migraine meds. Going to work on the bus would be torture in my twenties when the perfume Tabu was so popular! Use mens deodorant because female florals are no good for me and can't empty the canister because the gases as the deodorant runs out triggers a migraine. Have to shove tissue up my nose when applying nail varnish, Card Warehouse because of the Yankee Candles enmasse have to avoid, Lush soap shop etc. etc. etc. ....... OMG this is depressing!
