I have just had a ultrasound but realy dont know what it means im wondering if any one has had simular measurement etc and is able to possibly shed some light on my results please just a little concerned
Isthmus normal 1.5mm right thyroid 14x9x45mm multiple small nodules
left side 20x13x45mm multiple mixed cystic and solid nodules.
Generalized increased vacularity
Largest nodules within left lower pole 14x11x15mm

Cystic nodules are fluid filled. Increased vascularity means there is increased blood flow. The largest nodule 14x11x15mm is very small. Nodules are not palpable until they are >1cm and are too small to do fine needle aspiration until they are 1-1.5cm.

Increased vascularity means, as said above, increased blood flow. That is due to inflammation. In my case, it's due to high antiTPO targeting my thyroid and my immune system attacking it. Your doctor should check antiTPO and antiTg, as well as CRP (C reactive protein) which can be a marker for general inflammation from infections or diseases like lupus, cancer and arthritis (not Hashimoto's).
