T3 dosage

Hello I have received my t3 today. I am currently on 175 of levothyroxine. Do I decrease that and add t3? If so how much? TSH reading was 7.28 vs range of 0.04 - 4.0. Also do I take the t3 all in one go? I have read that some people only take T3 - is that an option? I have Hashimoto's. As always thank you for your help.

Hi, is your t3 from your gp or endo?. do you take your meds every morning on and empty belly with just water and nothing else for at least half hour to hour? What was your t4 result please. And have you ever had a t3 test? X

Hello Janm51 - there are already a lot of excellent answers to the same question from other members. Do a search - to the right of the posts there is also the very useful Related Posts section. There's so much info you'll be very well informed by lunchtime. :-)

Hi Janm51

humanbean gave some very good advice on your previous post about starting with the T3.

The trick is low and slow. It's not an over night cure and you might have some hiccups along the way

I myself started by adding a 1/4 tablet and noticed a difference with my brain fog quite quickly. After a couple of weeks you could try increasing to 1/2 tablet and reducing levo slightly.

T3 Is 3 or 4 times stronger than levo so you wouldn't want to take too much to soon.

I Have been T3 only (50mcg) for the last 6 weeks but it took me 9 months to get there and I'm starting to find my way back to normal again.

II also have PA and get 2 monthly injections of hydroxicobalimin from the GP, he won't increase frequency so have to supplement 4 x 5000mcg solgar methylcobalamin sublingual nuggets every day to keep symptoms at bay until I get the courage to self injecting my own b12.
