You people make me feel hope, so big thanks to all.

Well I'm new, to writing about it but felt enough is enough. So thought I'd try and find like people as I've kinda shut myself off and don't talk about my symptoms. :(

I'm on the fibro one too as that's my diagnosis, and apparently the reason for everything I feel , and I don't even bother asking or telling him anymore.

He's an improvement, the last one told me 'oh yes motherhood is hard, have a big bag of tramadol and good luck' ....... Sooo now I'm in pain constantly and don't know where to start.

Ok. So I am quite intuitive and feel it's a thyroid thing that needs sorting.

Although same old my results are normal. ???!!!!!!!! But I'm far from noimal so what gives???

Been hypo for 6 yrs and on levo (125)

I get a mad pulsing ache on left side of neck/throat. Feel awful. So want to go gluten free but petrified of knowing how to eat. Hahaha.!!!

Need to clean up my diet, so if anyone has advice, hacks tips on sugar addiction, and or any integrated doctors in Scotland that can help me very cheaply. (employment terminated as useless).... I'd sure appreciate it.

My eyes hurt from reading your posts. And it's Awesome. I'm learning so much about myself and truly in your debt.

Please tell me if I do or say anything wrong, I've seen a few gnarly posts and don't want to come across as a d**k.

Cheers

Keep the faith. Fibromyalgia is not a diagnosis or illness It's a SYMPTOM of your thyroid condition. The pain killers are not going to help, Are your vitamin B and D levels optimal? Folate and Ferritin? Are you Gluten and dairy free? Can you convince doctor to let you try a bit more thyroxine?

I had five months in bed before I got my medication right. Lots of us have been there. Don't accept this as good enough. Go back and tell the doctor that you'd rather they tackle the cause than the symptoms.

Good luck

You can manage no gluten and dairy. Its not as hard as you think. It really made a big difference to my pain, amongst other things it helped. Taking chromium can help curb the cravings too. I would also recommend finding a cheap copy of Dr. Peatfield's thyroid book on amazon as it gives a very good general overview.

Do you ask for a copy of your thyroid results? A lot of people come here because they're undermedicated and for whatever reason doctors can be reluctant to give us enough meds to make us feel better.

Ideally you want your t3/t4 in the upper quarter of the range and tsh below 1 to see if that works for you. Also vits b12, d and folate, iron need to be good, not just scraping in under the wire.

If you are on pain killers I hope you aren't addicted as unfortunately they can make people's bodies send the wrong pain signals.

The first step as already mentioned is to go back to your doctor and ask for copies of your latest blood test results. This is your right under the Data Protection Act 1998.

If challenged by the receptionist on why you want them tell him/her straight it's for your own records and it's your legal right under the Data Protection Act 1998.

If they are more difficult including saying you have to pay £10 come back here and post a new thread. As if you have to pay we may as well tell you how to get ALL your electronic records.

Want to note my approval of Rick Grimes in your posted picture and I'm sure many of us do/have felt like the Walking Dead on occasion! :D Going gluten free does seem like a mountain at the outset but really it's not that bad, if you focus more on what you can eat rather than what you can't. Remember how many thousands have gone before you and how much info/recipes are already in existence! You can always join the Gluten Free Guerillas on this site for more help there. :)

Hi there I have the dustbin diagnosis of CFS/ME together with hashis so I have heard it all too! Re diet I started with Dr Myhills advice of stone age diet that involved dairy and gluten free plus no sugar as I had a fermenting gut and SIBO. I followed that with the Autoimmune Paleo (AIP) and have had very good results. It allows carbs but takes out the items that most of us react to and reintroduces them in four categories nice and slowly so that you really understand what you are reacting to. See Sarah Ballantyne's book and website for more info:

thepaleomom.com/the-autoimm...

There are plenty of recipes out there and podcasts etc. I have really been helped by making my own chicken stock once a week and a large amount of carb rich soup. At least one meal of the day is sorted that way and I always have something in a flask if I have to travel/be out over meal time.

Re stopping sugar I don't think that there is an easy way to do it but beware of artificial sugars as they can effect the gut bacteria that this sort of diet is supposed to enhance. You will probably benefit form making kefir too - instructions all over the web and on Dr Myhills website. Once you have the tubs/jars it is simply straining the current batch and starting the next - I have this down to about 5 minutes a day.

Really like your post cwill.. totally agree with what you're doing there. I like Kefir - yes it's dairy, but it introduces bacteria that handle lactose. Bit of a faff at first, but now it's just part of my evening routine. I was lactose intolerant before, apart from butter, so it's a great result as I can now indulge in some panna cotta! Full fat pasture-raised organic milk is best. I hadn't heard of all the benefits of amino acids at first. I'm now, like you, doing bone broths and cooking meat on the bone in curries and stews to get richer sauces. I make a lot of soup too, with lentils thrown in - you can get stuck in a rut once you've got a few good recipes and it's time I also tried to branch out a bit!

Nothing you say is wrong if it's what you are thinking or feeling. Ignore the gnarly ones, they're the people with other issues :)

My pain has been helped by diet hugely. Gluten free isn't as bad as you think as so many alternatives in the free from sections of supermarkets. Health food shops are everywhere too. Gluten free pastry is readily available and good so pies are still possible then (that's what I missed) You don't have to give up sweet but find sweet from other things like agarve or figs. Cutting down on sugar will help with energy, positivity, weight and pain.

I've found if I eat potato my joints are hugely painful for a day or two after so I have sweet potato instead. Tomato gives me mouth sores badly.

They are in a group of foods called nightshades so worth seeing if they are affecting you.

Have you had your thyroid antibodies tested to check for Hashimotos Thyroditis? Very important. Get your dr to check. You can insist, don't be fobbed off. It may answer a lot of things.

Many women suffer thyroid imbalances after childbirth. If you have suffered headaches on-going postpartum this is something to mention to your Dr. as it can be quite threatening. Ask for a full panel Thyroid test as it sounds many hormone imbalances are at play. I use a gluten free Candida diet with more vegetables than protein and much smaller amounts of full grain carbs or a little potato. Stay away from prepared, boxed, canned foods. Look up the foods Thyroid ppl shouldn't eat. It helps to work with the metabolism when the Thyroid is suffering and takes stress off of it to help boost energy levels. Take x 2 daily walks outside. make yourself do it. Oxygen and sunshine (vit D levels must go up). It is quite safe to be in the sun for 15 - 30 minutes at a time. Always wear sunglasses but let your skin/head absorb the sun. Lack of vit.D is so mood altering also supplement with it. I take 8,000 units a day. Ph neutral vit C buffered with Calcium 2-3,000 mg should keep the viruses at bay and start to make you feel better. Take vit.C to bowel intolerance (diarrhea) then reduce until diarrhea stops, this will give you the dose you need. I take many vit/minerals to help my body absorb nutrients bc the thyroid is not normal which affects immunity. Bell Well!!!!

picked up your post as you live near me, it could have been me who had written it in part! Except yours read smoothly and mine often don't and I don't officially have fibro (just some of the symptoms).

I manage a really strict diet as I have severe symptoms when ever I drop off it and gluten free is the easy part! Invest in some good flour substitutes and do your own cooking. It doesn't always work though and I find that a diary to look back on and remind yourself that three years ago you were worse can be helpful although I'm having a pre Christmas what can I eat, how can I cope when I feel rough panic at the moment.

Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
