Hyper: Will they want to get me 'hypo' to kick start TSH

Hello all

T4 levels are coming into range (diagnosed hyper 6 weeks ago T4 51)...

I have been reading on here... that Endo's left them on meds for too long and they were made Hypo as a result...

Is this standard? Do they do this to kick-start TSH??

Wildpoppy,

No, it is not a treatment method. Patients become hypo when they are over medicated on Carbimazole because their bloods weren't checked often enough.

So they don't then have to drop t4 to a certain level to get TSH to kick in?
