cortisol saliva test

Hi Folks , having far more ill on naturthyroid than on levo,far far more.i am about to do a cortisol test this week. I noticed on the instructions for the yes it says only to drink water.can anyone tell me is that only just befre the test or can i only drink water for the whole day i am doing the saliva test.thanks folks

Do not eat , drink (except water) or brush teeth for at least 2 hours prior to collection.

So you can eat normally otherwise

Thank you for this. I just want to rule out cortisol problems before i tie up on NDT
