viral infections and hypothyroid symptoms

Every time I come down with a virus, such as a cold, it seems I have an uptick in my hypothyroid symptoms. Anyone else have this experience?

Yes. One of the things that can happen is that any stress, physical or emotional can cause thyroid hormone to pool, or be turned into rt3 so it is not getting to the cells where it is needed. holistic-hypothyroidism-sol...

I also noticed when reading advice to dental surgeons (I was searching for a thyroid disease aware dentist) which states that care should be taken with thyroid patients as their sympathetic nervous systems are compromised and stress can tip them over the edge. Sometimes we just gotta wrap ourselves in cotton wool, although that's easier said than done.
