Please could anyone tell me a good doctor in Oxford who will listen to symptoms and not just the TSH test, which has varied from 7 down to 4.9. BUPA said antibody test was 249 rather than range of less than 100? New to this where GP doesn't listen to me

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies over range means you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). Hashimoto's will eventually cause hypothyroidism but it may take years to develop and progress. 100% gluten-free diet can help reduce symptoms and antibodies.
NHS doesn't treat hypothyroidism according to symptoms. It will diagnose hypothyroidism when TSH is over range or FT4 below range. Ask your GP receptionist for a copy of your recent thyroid results with the ranges (figures in brackets after results) or post your BUPA results and ranges and members will advise.
