It is a symptom of hypo - not necessarily NDT. Some complain of dry eyes or/and mouth. Your GP could prescribe eye drops or ma

1.5 grains isn't too high a dose. Before the blood tests were introduced the normal prescription was approx 200mcg to 400mcg (2 to 4 grains) but some need higher.

hi shaws thanks your response i've been on 1.5 now for about 6 days do you think it might be wise to raise it to 2? i've got a sneaky suspicion i've got a conversion problem i might be wrong but since starting this ndt i've noticed my temps have dropped more than before i don't know why that is,i've had some good days lately and i defo seem like i have more energy, i mean i've been going the gym more and not feeling dead to the earth after  which is a good thing but its just them temps thats bother me.i do have  very high cortisol in the morning and then it goes down towards the night it was normal on the night test i wonder if taking b4 i go to bed would be a good idea cause cortisol is normal then?? i know i have very lo stomach acid and ive been taking my dose sublingally but got a feel that's not doing much so do you think taking it with food would be the better option oh i was waking myself up at around 5 am to take it then go bk to sleep for a bit. thanks mark

Take your time increasing. It is recommended that an increase every 2 weeks is fine. If you are exercising, go gently as T3 is reduced as we're using energy when exercising. When you are on an optimum NDT you should be able to do things normally without it affecting you. Sometimes our temp doesn't always return to normal but we do feel well.

The usual average doses is between 2 and 5 grains. Some need more.

Vitamin C helps lower cortisol.

Get bloods as early as possible and don't eat before it. Also allow about 24 hours between your last dose of NDT and blood draw and take it afterwards.

If you've increased your dose I would wait until the end of the 2nd week, or until you feel you are on an optimum dose

Before the blood test and levo were introduced the way to treat a patient was all upon clinical symptoms and relief of them by NDT.
