Thought I'd post my results for you clever ones out there and to see if the dr is missing anything. Paid for blue horizon in the end as no joy with GP!

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you have low levels of vitamin d3 and too much reverse t3.    So what has been suggested?       Has your doc seen these?

They said to ignore reverse t3 on the report as no specific consequence! What does that mean? Do I need to be taking T3 as well as thyroxine?

Dr hasn't seen as yet but seeing an endo soon as Dr wouldn't even check my B12 etc...

Have a look on the rt3 website....  rt3-adrenals.org...

If t4 isnt turned into t3 the body still needs to break it down.    If all the t4 was turned into t3 you would be hyper, so the t4 becomes rt3, then t2,  and t1.      The problem when there is a lot of rt3 is that it stops you from making or using free t3.    So your blood work could at first glance,  look fine,  but you feel terrible for lack of t3.

Galathea,

rT3 is within range.

But its right at the top end of the range and the ratio of t3 and rt3 is  14 something....  Really would like to see more free t3 and less rt3 to give a ratio of more than 20.....

Is that result just for your waking cortisol? If so, it's below range - if it's an average of over the day using 4 different samples/times then I can't see the other numbers.

I have never had a R T 3 problem but this website might help explain the condition.  When the R T 3 is high, it is difficult for T3 to make it into your cells.  So, the R T 3 has to be 'cleared out' or lowered and it can take 8 - 12 weeks.  And you may have to play detective in order to find out why your R T 3 is high. Otherwise, it will happen again if the cause isn't corrected.

Sooo much to test and do. It's such a mine field. I'm very angry at the NHS, off to the dr today to fight my case!

Your growth hormone is very low, and that will make you feel bad. That's probably because your FT3 is so low.

Thanks. I've had my pituitary checked too, waiting for results but I guess there may be a link then.

It could be a pituitary problem, or it could just be that your T3 is very, very low. Your pituitary needs T3 to produce GH.
