I have no idea but I am training to do a 10K. I suppose gentle exercise is better than none and I feel groggy if I don't do any exercise.

It will also use up T3 too quickly.

So could i have brought this on myself by exercising? I train 5 times a week for triathlons and marathons (42k). Could this have caused it

Are you asking if streanuous exercise has caused your hypothyroidism? I very much doubt it. I've never heard that mentioned as a cause. As long as you eat properly and Don't do low calorie.

No, it's the other way round. It's your hypothyroidism that's making it difficult for you to train, and making you suffer for it afterwards. Because exercising uses up your T3 rapidly, and as you cannot replace it rapidly, like a 'normal' body, with a fully functional body, all the other trillion cells in the body will suffer until you've been able to convert enough T4 to supply them again. Especially if you're not on a high-enough dose of T4.

So Don't go blaming yourself for you illness! It's bad enough doctors blaming patients without us doing it ourselves! lol

Any exercise uses up T3.  If your body cannot replace it fast enough there will always be  problems.

I was on Levo for years. And 6 months ago I changed to thyroid s and I'm feeling much better the mucin that's all  over my body is very slowly going I used to do a lot of sprinting and really enjoy it but a also have high cortisol and exercise can make it worst so I've not done any for months my adrenal problem could take anywhere from 3 month or 18 months to lower. I can't wait to start running again but for now I'm doing walking
