Does anyone know of a good cure for nits. I have caught them off my little boy. I have very thick curly long hair and have been using lots of olive oil and a nit comb has anyone any better suggestions.

Hedrin??
Thanks. Is it OK for your hair. I remember using something once and it made my hair dreadfully dry and frizzy.
Look on Amazon (or elsewhere) for the Nitty Gritty headlice comb. Also look at Picksan Lice Stop shampoo (no nasties such as DEET or parabens). See what you think
The children used to pass them to me - I used the strongest essential oils, rosemary, geranium, eucylyptus etc with some olive oil, combing out over and over until I couldn't see any more. Then repeat three days later when another lot will have hatched, and keep going until you've had two sessions completely clear.
i would avoid the insecticide preparations.
It has to be a nit comb. Got 60 once.
Agree, don't do the insecticides. Nit comb and loads of conditioner every 2 days (I used to do every day to be sure) for about a fortnight. Got rid of them every time - for me and my son. S'pose it happened 3 or 4 times between him being about 4 and 9.
Not fun, but not that awful either.
Quassia chips from Neals Yard which are totally natural.
Hi
The natural remedy in Vinegar instead of olive oil.
I was going to suggest cider vinegar.
Ive got a bucket load of cider vinegar Ill try that.
I seem to remember reading that Organic Coconut Oil rubbed into the scalp is good.
I have plenty of coconut oil. I shall give it a try.
I am a hairdresser, Tea Tree is brilliant. Nits hate it !! Apply Tea Tree conditioner to dry hair, using a nitcomb. Wrap your hair with Cling film, leave for a few hours. Use Tea Tree shampoo as well. Use it on all the family..... Good Luck !
Hi I used tea tree oil on my boys when they were younger. It worked every time. Sprinkle 4/5 drops onto the shampoo and lather through the hair. Then comb through with nit comb. Was told the tea tree oil kills the lice and melts the stuff that helps the eggs stick to your hair. Not sure if that's true but it always worked on my 3 sons and God daughter. Good luck.
Thanks.
Apparently listerine works well too...who knew? Google will no doubt have more info, but really good conditioner with a few drops of tea tree oil added and a nit comb whilst distraction of tv or radio and comb the little b*ggers all out!
