Am taking cabrimazole for thyroid which my doctor says is half normal the other half swings up and down anyone else out there with this problem?

I'd ask what's actually wrong with you in medical terms instead of the type of bad explanation you'd give to a naughty five-year old.

If you can post your blood test results, I'm sure someone will be able to help. Usually you get carbi for Graves disease where the thyroid is overactive, but this half and half thing sounds more like Hashis where you can swing between hypo (most of the time) and hyper when some more of your thyroid is destroyed, releasing a load of hormones all at once. Or perhaps he means that there are nodules on one side and not the other, or that TSH is low and T4 high, or almost anything really. What you were told is not a proper explanation for an adult.
