I was refered to ENT as had a feeling of something stuck in throat which comes and goes. They put a camera down throat and looked at voice box. I have recently been diagnosed with hypothyroidism as my results were way out. Why didnt they look at my thyroid? Could they see if there were nodules or enlargement on th thyroid

Because your thyroid gland isn't down your throat, they can't see it.
sheba,
Welcome to our forum and sorry to hear that you are not feeling well.
I too had a camera down my throat several times whilst thyroid investigations were taking place. If anything is deemed as unusual or suspicious you will be referred for an ultra sound scan and possibly an FNA.
If you haven't been diagnosed with Hashimotos, ask for TPOAb & TGAb to be tested for a diagnosis ( or not. )..
Post any thyroid hormone test results complete for ranges ( numbers in brackets) for members to comment.

ENT doctors Don't seem to be aware that the thyroid gland is just outside the throat they are examining, and can impinge on it. This is the problem with specialising, dividing the body up into a collection of spare parts, and being incapable of seeing the body as a whole, and how one part affects another.
So, having determined that there is nothing wrong with your throat, the next stop should be an endo.
