The ketogenic diet and cancer, or in fact most diseases.

This is actually what I do, I should add more fats, which I will do now. It is truly an eye opener, but only when most fall sick, will they do something about it, but many will just follow the conventional medical interventions, which I find a shame, as they are not really giving themselves a chance of life, it costs nothing, only changing your diet.

Just to add, I feel a million times better with the addition of my Msm, got one of my girls on it now. She's headachey, and flemmy, but that's just the toxins coming out. She is asthmatic, and I hope that she can continue, she will feel so much better. Will post on that one in a few weeks. I know that she will be improve.

A great article:-

Keto is good and there are many different ways of 'naming' the use of fats; LCHF works for the same reason. For decades now its been plenty carbs [including grains! NO] and low fat; great way of keeping the revolving door of patients... getting more and more sick with each generation. But there can be a problem with fats [LDL can become bad, even though HDL and cholesterol are good - this seems to be an individual factor that can be tested in terms of ... not here!]. We're not tested well here for the smaller measurements such as measuring the size of the lipid particles that carry the cholesterol and apolipoprotein B... there's quite a lot of relevant markers that I asked to have tested over a decade ago [with heart issues in the family and my stress related - hormonal - weight increase that wouldn't shift no matter what I did]. Next time in US, I'm going to have meaningful tests done - no point in waiting here!

Problem is that internal fat [in slim people] occurs and due to the way we test [or not] here, no one really knows... obesity is not always fatal or creates heart issues. I was never overweight, became obese [due to hormonal/stress issues] and told for 12 years, low fat, which never worked... i.e. packed out with sugar! I changed to high fat... it works! They got it wrong and still won't admit their stupidity ... well, what would they do with all of the drugs made to get people to take to simultaneously uphold the rubbish the industry passes off as food! Some people today can't even cook!? No clue... cradle to grave of crap food bolstered by crap medicine = crap lives.

So, if eating HFLC is killing me, at least I'll look better in the box than suffering with a shoddily treated thyroid issue AND [was] carrying inexplicable weight to boot ;-) There is no way of having serious debate in this country with medicine... they've so much to protect, some aren't that bright and don't seem to care as much as they did way back... when doctors came from a more socially responsible class, as opposed to this sense of entitlement bunch we get today!

Great to hear that you're enjoying what you're doing :-)

What they should be doing, is giving people, that they think might be at risk of heart disease, an mri to check the health, cleanliness and elasticity of the arteries, that's the best measure, and not really hdl and ldl, yes it is a factor, but many people have low hdl, high ldl, but very very clear, clean arteries, because the hdl that is there, is doing a great job of garbage disposal!! The ldl, may well be the big fluffy kind, which is not harmful.

Yes, there are several different permutations and people at risk clearly could be taken down a different route. I'd heard of 'big fluffy LDL' :-) Thanks x

Well, my asthma went after various changes including MSM - but not overnight; it took a couple of years. Taking a dose that is slightly too high can cause headaches and stiff neck - better to reduce dose slightly and build up again.

HI Angel_of_the_North, well now got 2 of my kids on it, started Chris off today, he has bad asthma, and Catherine is now on day 4, she also has asthma. Yes she has a headache, and flemmy, but she says that she can feel the MSM cleaning out the gunk, so I think that she will continue. Got 2 more kgs of it today, one of my boys wants to start on it as well, and one of my partners in dancing from Salsa, for his back problems, and mental clarity. I think that he is hypo, told him to get himself tested.

It does say, that 4 months is enough to help with the asthma, but then we're all different. I am hoping to see great results from them, as long as they can cope with the headaches for a few weeks. I just feel so much better, I will never look back, and never stop taking what I take.

What doses are you and your children taking?

HI Silver_Fairy, I take 1 heaped tsp x 2 daily with the same amount of ascorbic acid, one dose morning, one mid afternoon. The kids have a flat tsp with the ascorbic acid, twice daily.

Ketogenic diet is not meant to be long term and is toxic. Glucose is your bodies preferred energy source. Once you prohibit carbs, your body will start breaking down fat and protein and convert it into glucose. This is not good. You can burn a lot of fat on a ketogenic diet but it is harmful to the body. AVOID polyunsaturated fats like the plague. Check out the work of Broda Barnes and Raymond Peat

HI theonlyway, I am not 100% keto u know, but my body cannot handle carbs, being hypo, and I only feel good on protein, veg and good saturated fats, with one piece of fruit daily, loads of cheeses, especially, goat's and sheep's cheese, I love my fresh salads, with lots of lemon and extra virgin olive oil. My health is certainly pretty much perfect now. No fish, too full of mercury, so only Rosita extra virgin cod liver oil, and black seed oil.

We're all different, and I have read all about the toxicity of too much protein, giving an overload to the kidneys, I am well aware of it all, but I don't overload on protein, my body tells me what I need, and it gets it, and that way, it's a win win situation.

Polyunsaturated fats are the plague, I only ever have, kerrygold butter, loads of virgin coconut oil, and sometimes ghee to fry in, and cold extra virgin olive oil on my salads.

I think my 'diet' needs more protein, how much do you eat daily? (roughly!)
