cortisol level

hi all my 22 year old sons cortisol was 299 nmol/L taken at 9am the lab range 171 – 497 is this low ?

ps i meant too say am not sure if it should be over 500 for that time of day but gp says within range?

The range should be specific for that time of day. Cortisol levels vary throughout the day, so there are different ranges. That result is around mid-range, so I Don't think that's too bad - although I'm by no means an expert!
