Thank you, but this is no help, I can't sleep, I spend my nights twisting and turning.

Vit D was low so started taking supplements, which has got that to a good level.

i need something to assist me with sleep first, without interruption.

and I take a B complex supplement

Some things that have helped me to sleep, although I've never found anything which is terribly reliable - I have high cortisol too, and insomnia is the bane of my life.

5-HTP : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5-Hyd...

This is available over the counter or online without a prescription. I take 50mg each evening, about an hour before bed.

Magnesium : I take 300mg magnesium citrate each evening, but there are other compounds of magnesium which help too. Avoid magnesium oxide because very little is absorbed. My dose is not particularly high, I know some people take more. Magnesium compounds are generally easily purchased over the counter or online.

Melatonin : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melat...

This is only available on prescription in the UK. However, it is not illegal, and it can be bought online and imported very easily. It is available in doses from 1mg up to 10mg per pill. Since it is a hormone the body produces in tiny quantities, my feeling is that low doses are best.

Are they going to test to find out WHY your Cortisol is too high..because that is really important. What are the ranges? Was this blood, urine ?

Stormx profile image

Faith63

it was a urine test, i don't know exactly why its. but its uncommon with hypo

ranges

1 = 19.1

2 = 7.8

3 = 16.1

4 = 2.2

total 45.2 nmol/L

list 4 results (similar to 24 hr saliva). Could you PM me

which lab did this test (if done privately). Need to get one

done myself. Thanks
