Yesterday I started nature thyroid! Omg I felt so good... The best I felt in years but of course there is a but! I am itching from the nature thyroid which I believe is probably an allergy to pork... I have noticed this because when I eat cheap pork (from aldi) I itch but if I eat better pork from the butchers I don't... So will order some thyro gold to solve this.
This other issue is when am now hot and nauseated after I take the nature thyroid, I read on the sttm this could be a sign of weak adrenals. what is the cheapest and most effective way of solving this?
To help my adrenals do I need to stop the ndt as well... Don't want to do this!
Don't really have the money to have a cortisol test done.
Thank you lovely people... without your help I wouldn't have made so much progress in two weeks... I now it's a journey of experimentation!

Unfortunately adrenals aren't that easy to fix, its complex, and its a long term campaign.
My best advice is to read 'The Adrenal Reset Diet' by Dr Alan Christianson. He works from his questionnaire instead of from the tests. He is also not using diet alone, but also supplements and light therapy.
The general view seems to be that you won't get the benefit from your thryoid treatment if your adrenals are in trouble. However, both under and over treatment will worsen the adrenal situation so I continued to treat, but went by the T3 levels, and once in the top quartile I accepted that was as good as it got.
I would speak to the manufacturers of Nature Throid as it is supposed to hypoallergenic. That means humans shouldn't have a reaction (I assume).
From their website - (are you taking a 'copy' nature-throid. I don't know if there are copies but just watching BBC1 on fake products which look identical to the real thing).
RLC Labs is proud to manufacture and distribute Nature-Throid® and WP Thyroid®, the only hypoallergenic medications with a history of safety, efficacy, and consistent T4/T3 content for over 75 years.
With products unmatched in the industry, RLC Labs is dedicated to improving the lives of others and will continue to be at the forefront in the field of hypothyroid treatment.
Try taking an anti-histamine 1 hour before taking Nature-throid and if you don't have a reaction there's something in it which is annoying you. But there shouldn't be.
I take Magnesium glycinate, plus its cofactors wholefood vitamin C, Zinc and B6.
Also Rhodiola in the morning and Ashwagandha in the evening.
BioKult probiotics
I use my light device (I have a Valkee, but light boxes are cheaper) daily year in, year out.
I am gradually trying to wean off the herbs, and generally skip the Rhodiola now if I have had a good night.
My definition of a good night has changed since a year ago. Then five hours would have been fantastic - now great is 8, and 5 would be poor. So the regime is working!
I have been taking Thyroid S for many years. It has a reputation for causing reactions, but I have never had any trouble with it.
The amazing feeling - like waking up from being a Zombie for years - was what I got with liothyronine (prescribed). Unfortunately I also had really nasty side effects where my limbs almost seized up and within a fortnight I could no longer lift my arms higher than my shoulders. I stopped taking it and went back to Zombie mode, and was so desperate that is when I resorted to Thyroid S.
Thanks for your reply, my sleep is not bad. I do use aids but sleep well for 8 hours. Today I woke up feeling totally refreshed but after taking the nature thyroid felt ill. Will look into thyro gold before the adrenals. It's so upsetting how you make progress and then there's another problem!
Jengibbon, if you didn't have adrenal issues on Levothyroxine it's unlikely to be an adrenal issue after taking 2 x 1/4 grain doses of NatureThyroid more probably a reaction to one of the ingredients. Take an antihistamine an hour before NatureThroid and see whether the nausea is relieved. If it is an allergy to porcine hormone you'll have the same reaction on Thyroid-S and other porcine NDT but bovine NDT may be alright.
