I have Hashimotos Thyroiditis and take 50mcgs Unipharma T3 at seven am and another 25mcgs at five pm and have been on T3 only for almost three years. Despite this, my temps are still between 35.8 and 36.3 daily. I feel tired and look puffy faced and put on weight very very easily.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?

Hi I have had same problem. Didn't know where it was estrogen dominance making temp go down .I have been as low as 35.7 on t3. I have asked gp opinion once and she said i needed estrogen to being temperature back up. Through post menopause and menopause temps all over the place. I often wondered if temps mean anything. I have been 38 and felt dreadful. When I was 35.7 I was running up and down stairs.
make sure your are eating regularly. Small meals 7 times a day this can sometimes keep temp up. Also check bp when it is low. I didn't know that t3 can cause low blood pressure and a low heart rate. And I didn't know that hypo and none conversion of t4 can cause high blood pressure. Ahhh just don't know anymore. Keep a track of temp alongside hormone month and see if it rises at end of month.
Sometimes our temp doesn't come back to what was 'normal' for us. My temp is between 36 and 36.5 but I feel well and am on T3 only. It does sound as if you may not be on sufficient as you appear to have clinical symptoms. I take T3 once daily.

Have you tried increasing by half a tablet for a week and seeing if you feel different? You definitely should have lost your puffy face - also how is your potassium level? When my gets low it affects my T3 efficacy X
Hi Low body temp is not always a guide, mine has always been low. best to have tSH, T4 and FT3 tests. Also iron, ferritin B12, vit D and diabetes with thyroid problems.
Thanks, Jackie, but I've had the TSH, fT3 and 4 tests done lots of times and they have given very little indication of the state of my health. They have just been a
guide to enable the doctor to say, 'Your levels are fine, you must be feeling well.'
I feel best when my TSH is non-existent, my t4 is bottom of range and T3 is top of the range.
My endo told me I have the best D3 levels in the county, although my iron levels are on the low side. Perhaps it's iron that I need to address. Thanks for your reply.
