Like the recovering post! I struggle at times with differing advice. Your last post really helped confirm I was on track re hair loss - biotin seems to be helping (or I may have an over optimistic imagination...). From this one, I have learned to add almonds to the Brazil nuts (for selenium) which was really helpful - then the chap advocates fermented foods.. which I had read should be avoided... (I'm that frequent PA and Hashi's combo). Sigh. It's such a slow tiptoeing through the minefield, isn't it. But thanks again, Grey Goose.

A good rule of thumb is that if it doesn't agree with you, then Don't eat it, and never mind what anybody else says. Most people have got their own axe to grind. But you have to get to know your body really well.

But Dr Axe isn't specifically talking to hypos. For most people, fermented food is good for them. If it upsets you, Don't eat it. If you have no reaction, carry on eating it. I'm hypo/Hashi's, but I eat fermented foods with no problem.

These days, I Don't think there's any food that upsets me particularly - except soy. When I had a working gland, I used to have problems with certain goitrogens, but not anymore. I can eat dairy, gluten, nighshades, whatever, with no problem. So, I will! lol
