Have you ever been tested for antibodies? Has anything else changed, medication, stress levels anything you can think of. I don't know a great deal about tumours but I would have though you might have had earlier symptoms.

I am assuming your doctor has dropped your dose but is he referring you to an endocrinologist? If nothing else it could put your mind at rest. Have you got any blood work that you can share with us? It might help in getting suggestions.

I will post my results from bloodwork in several hours when i can get to it but i have only received a printout from labs in august. I need to get them from 2 weeks ago because they tested for the antibodies that time. Thinking i need an endo instead of messing around with a gp. Just miserable though. I weighed 146 in april and now im 109lbs.

That would be great! Thank you. I'm glad your GP has thought of antibodies so he may well be able to act on it. I thankfully don't have that problem but many do and I'm sure will be able to offer you good advice.

I'm sorry your having problems. Did you feel hyperactive or did the doctor lower your dose due to your TSH alone?

Do you have a copy of your latest blood test results with the ranges because 'normal' may mean you are somewhere in the range it doesn't mean we feel normal. Did the doctor check thyroid antibodies?

I am sure you will get more responses.

My gp tested for the antibodies too 2 weeks ago and t came back normal. I have never been to an endocronologist, my gp hasnt even felt my thyroid.

Ask surgery for a copy of your blood test results with the ranges. Post them on a new question for more comments.

I am very symptomatic with severe weight loss, night sweats, fatigue, not sleeping.

You need to see a good endocrinologist.

Other things cause weight loss (eg low cortisol, diabetes, low B12 - appetite loss - and nastier things), not just hyperthyroid. Was your Free T3 way over range? Post current blood test results with ranges and ask for a referral to an endo (as it might not be your thyroid).

Something obviously isn't right and your GP is not the person to handle this. Ask for a referral, urgently!
