Hi. Does anyone suffer from this? I just wondered if it's connected to Thyroid issues .. I had a sudden bout of it about 3 months ago, quite bad and had sickness tablets from doctor.. But now I've got a milder episode that's lasting now for 4 weeks!!

😊 thanks

Vertigo can be due to low thyroid. Or it can be due to low B12. Or many other things. What are your thyroid levels? Have you had your B12 tested?

Hello mummyG

Sorry to hear you are experiencing vertigo.

I suffered vertigo when initially medicating on Levothyroxine so can sympathise with you. It lasted about 4 - 6 weeks and was hugely debilitating but once gone it has never returned...thank goodness.

Have you had a recent adjustment to your thyroid meds or started any new supplements?

Failing that I don't know what it can be but would suggest that it is to do with medicating a thyroid hormone deficiency.

I hope it goes soon,

Hi .. Well yes I have changed my meds a bit..

I got some T3 from Corfu beginning of August .. Because I thought I may not be converting as I just can't lose weight and feel tired and rubbish !!

Started on 6 mic added to 100 of Levo

Then after reading that perhaps I should stop all Levo for a week to detox I did that .. Then did 50 of Levo and 12 of T3 ...

I'm back on 100 Levi now and no T 3 as I felt sweaty and also could hear my heart beating at night time .. So no more self medicating ... I dunno

One day I will find the Key to getting back to me!!!

Thanks for advice xx

MummyG,

You did all the right things but didn't persevere.

I think it a good idea to add T3. Just start again more slowly.

I followed my endos protocol which was to half T4 dose & introduce half of proposed T3 dose split into two doses am and pm.

Then after one week raise T3 to proposed dose and feel great.......

My endo prescribed 20mcg T3 so starter program went as follows :

I used to medicated 100mcg T4 so halved to 50 mcg, introduced 5mcg T3 6am (taken with T4) and 5 mcg T3 3pm.

After one week I raised T3 to

10mcg 6am ( taken with T4) and 10 mcg T3 3pm.

I initially suffered a headache for two days and felt hot but now feel great.

For others experiences just repost as another question.

I would put your vertigo down to the introduction and abruptly stopping of T3.

You don't need to feel tired and rubbish mumyG

I agree with greygoose - could it be low B12 ? Do you know your latest result ? It needs to be more than 500 or even at 1000 to prevent cognitive decline :-)

I did and at the time I was rigging lighting! (Up and down ladders climbing lighting towers etc.) But of course the endo I was seeing at the time pooh pohed it and said it wasn't a symptom of uae.
