synthroid to Nature Thryoid dosage

100mcg synthroid and changing to nature thyroid....dr says one gram only a day....but I have lowww ft3.....and thought 1.5 g better....and this dose is for 2 months and then test???????so....I am already wondering how fast I will go hypo......

Please, please take care with your measures. Desiccated thyroid is dosed in GRAINS (not grams). (One grain is sometimes converted to metric measurements as 60 or 65 milligrams.)

The manufacturers do provide "conversion" charts which often suggest that one grain is equivalent to 100 micrograms of levothyroxine (or Synthroid). That is a conservative and probably safe level to try at the beginning. Many people find they need more but it is folly to start too high. Better start a bit low and then raise as needed.

sadly she is only giving me a 2 mth supply before testing in 6-8 weeks and therefore can only take on grain a day max.....before she will re script...I see why people find other sources for meds.......my hair is coming out and I am low low normal ft3....
