Has anyone experience of taking this brand of T3 (Thyro3) and if so how you think it compares to other brands. Many thanks.

Well I've never heard of this brand, so I'm guessing many others haven't either. Who is the manufacturer and which country does it come from? Are you sure it is actually prescription T3 medication and not a 'body builder supplement'?

The manufacturer is Alpha-Pharma healthcare. It is manufactured in Mumbai India. There is a warning in the pkt stating should only be sold on the perscription of a medical practioner. Tablets contain Liothyronine Sodium BP 25mcg. Excipients q.s so the actual 'bulking' ingredients are not listed.Colour Ponceau 4R. No knowledge of body building supplements or how they differ from thyroid meds.

Thanks for clarifying.

As this is mostly a UK based forum, with some members in the USA and European countries, there probably won't be many here with experience of taking Indian medicines.

Body building supplements are generally not prescription medicines, hence will not substitute for the missing hormones that hypothyroid patients need, but can often be promoted/advertised in a way that misleads people to think they are.

I have much experience taking Indian meds and dealing with Indian med suppliers for what it's worth. But I am USA based so that may be why.

Please can you PM where you buy your NDT or T3 as I get from The USA but expensive with Customs Tax

The only sources which would not be subject to UK VAT are those which are within the EU. (And those which have product which is less than 15 UK pounds.)

So anything coming from outside the UK is subject to even more money being collected. That stinks. You guys really need to stick with EU products then. Indian meds are cheap but by the time you add a shipping fee and your VAT it probably comes out the same as what you are paying for your EU source. I would like to see one with credit card processing. The site I was using and is now out of stock is based in Hong Kong. And I try to always find the cheapest I can since my SS disability is not much to begin with and is the only income I have. Thanks for the reply.

Do you guys have to pay customs tax on everything you purchase in the UK? I am USA too so I am not familiar with your restrictions. Most of my business was US citizens and not many UK or other foreign countries. USA is unique in that we don't have socialized medicine and unless one has a good job with great healthcare insurance one is pretty much SOL. I pay for mine out of pocket so I was always looking for the cheapest I could find.

I posted on another thread that I was looking for T3 where I could use my credit card. The pharmacy I just bought from is now out of stock.

I tried the NDT Thyroid-S but wasn't able to tolerate it. If you want the site where I purchased I will PM you with it. I have two full packages I am not even going to use now so it was a bit of a waste.

I am using this one but just started 5 days ago. However, I can say that I felt better immediately. I don't have anything else to compare it to though. I am also taking 10-20mg of cortisol with it. Feel pretty darn good and could hardly get out of bed before it.

 Hi Bruster

Why was theIndian Thyro 3 awful?  Ive been taking it for several months and have not found it too bad and I am definitely not a bodybuilder.I do have adrenal issues which are not yet resolved so taking thyroid meds is not straightforward.

Unfortunately getting a supply of   T3 has been a nightmare. Originally recommended by a private endo a locum GP pres bribed it for me but then the surgery decided they would not continue - I managed 1 pkt out of them.I bought Mexican T3 which suited me but then the factory closed. I got a referral to a NHS endo and the hospital gave me a 3 month trial of a generic T3 but my GP refused to prescribe the T3 as the hospital kindly wrote to her stating that there was no clinical evidence to support T3 therapy. I obtained Tiromel from Cyprus but was plagued by headaches. I got another referral to another hospital where a friend had been prescribed T3 but was told by the endo he could no longer prescribe as Care Quality Commission had taken him to task about prescribing it. By. then I had obtained the Indian T3 by chance as I was ordering LDN and just happen to notice they stocked this brand of T3 and thought it was worth a try.  This was from an online pharmacy not from a body building site. If u Google liothyronine several body building site do come up but I wd be wary of using any of the product s.

It is a pity that after paying into the NHS fr decades people have to go to these lengths to get medication.

I know several othe people on this forum use the Greek Thyro3 but I was a little reluctant to try it for 2 reasons: after my experience with Tiromel I thought I might get the headaches back and the payment method was complicated. I could not pay by credit card or PayPal but had to organise a money order.

I wonder if admin on this site cd organise some sort i of survey to get and coordinate information about reliable T3 suppliers together with feedback etc.  It seems there is a crackdown on prescribing T3 now probably to do with saving cash and the problem is only going to get worse.

If anyone sources T3 other than Tiromel or Greek Thyro3 I wd be grateful if u cd PM me. Also if u have had good experiences with the Greek Thyro3 - perhaps I was a bit hasty dismissing it  And just good experiences of any particular brand of T3.
