Kagz, normal is a broad range, what are the results and lab ref ranges? Have you had ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate tested?

I need 75/100mcg T4 + 30mcg T3 to feel well and to suppress my TSH after thyroidectomy.

Kagz, I just had a total thyroidectomy 1.5weeks ago and they put me straight onto 100mg. I'm feeling ok but wouldn't say that I have an abundance of energy and my face is slightly dry too.

I'll be having blood tests in the coming weeks prior to seeing my Endo for a checkup but am feeling better than I was prior to the surgery.

I'm on 150mcg a day and like you feel crap. Mainly it's the muscle weakness and terrible fatigue that is getting me down. For two years now I have been asking my GPs about it but they just keep doing blood tests that come back with nothing showing up in them. They tell me my T4 is 19, which they are happy with.

I had a TT about twelve months ago, and after an initial period on T3 only I am now on 150 T4. To be honest, i sometims feel a bit over medicated but this is the dose I need to keep TSH suppressed. If you can, post results as Clutter says - if you have had thyroid removed then the targets are not the same as say hypothyroidism.

Have you had your levels of Vitamin D, Ferritin B12 and folate checked? People with thyroid problems often find they are very short of these, which makes them feel rubbish. Having said that, it's normal for people with no thyroid at all to be on a dose of 150mcg ish.

Don't neglect your Adrenal glands. They may have become exhausted trying to keep you going through the trying thyroid times. A good quality supplement may work wonders.
